Briana Castellanos Zuniga

Hello class of 2024! My name is Briana Castellanos Zuniga and I am running for senior class officer. If elected this would be my first year in leadership. I am heavily involved with the school and have grown a passion to help the people around me. I am currently in a program,  Intercambio in which we mentor the eight graders from our district middle school. I've gained leadership skills and responsibility throughout my high school years and feel that I can explore and develop them beyond belief in leadership. I believe in diversifying our school as a whole, but starting in our leadership class. I want to pursue making our school into a safe place for people who feel out of place who are scared to speak their mind. Goals of mine as class officer would be more inclusivity regarding our affinity groups, hosting more events throughout Tigard high school. Overall, I want Tigard high school to become a place that students feel safe and welcomed, but mostly included. Thank you for your time and consideration. Vote Briana Castellanos Zuniga as one of your senior class officers!

Carol Cortes De Aguiar

My name is Carol Cortes and I want to be one of your class officers. A few fun facts about me are that I am Brazilian and Mexican, I love to travel, I like to cook, and I love music. This year I was in the Assemblies committee which means my group and I got to plan and run most of the assemblies this year. My favorite part was being able to set up games such as relay races, jeopardy, hungry hippos, etc... I hope that I can do this again for you guys and make them better based on what you guys loved! My main goal is to make Tigard a welcoming and inclusive place by hosting more school events that are put on through the students in our community. I want to hear the ideas the
students have and try to turn them into reality, making sure that everyone's ideas are heard and put into action. I value making sure that everyone feels included and I want people to enjoy being a part of the Tigard High School community. In addition, another goal I have is to create a good relationship between leadership and the student body. Leadership is here to support and encourage students to speak up about their wants and needs, and I value creating a relationship where students feel comfortable and hopeful about speaking with leadership about their ideas.

Olivia Hughes

Hi Tigers! My name is Olivia Hughes, and I will be running for one of your 2023-24 school years Senior Class Officer!
I am so excited to be running again this year and to hopefully be representing the senior class, and I intend on making it an amazing year for all of us, especially seniors because it's our last year at Tigard!
I believe that every student at Tigard High School should be able to express their opinions and ideas that they have for our school. As an officer, I want to create those opinions and ideas into a reality and I intend to make our school an inclusive and fun environment that every student would look forward to walking into the doors every day! Some things that I want to run towards this year are:
  • Improving the attendance to sporting events, and arts events
  • Also improving the attendance towards extracurricular events and making the student body persuaded to go to them.
  • Creating more opportunities for community service that people can be a part of that can help you along the way when applying to college.
  • Providing more mental health services to students who need it
  • More acknowledgement towards academic achievements and notice those who are doing really well throughout their academic career in specific areas.
As a Tigard community, we need to all come together, and I intend to make all of these possibilities hopefully a reality for our 2023-24 school year! I am excited to hopefully represent next year’s senior class at Tigard High School, and make it a better place that students and staff members want to be a part of!
As an officer, I want to be someone that any student at THS can come talk to and I want them to enjoy being in our school! I hope that I have earned your vote, so just remember to vote OLIVIA HUGHES for one of your senior class officers!! Thank you!

Tanner Block

Hey tigers!
It's that time of year to vote for student class officer!
My name is tanner block and I am beyond thrilled to be running to be one of your senior class officers!
Some things I would like to integrate into this upcoming year would include:
  • More events led by student direction and communication
  • Gaining input through the voices of students and how to better work for our peers
  • Invoke working with teachers and classes to make safer learning environments
  • Striving to make Tigard a more unified and friendly place
One of my goals would be to add more events to encourage participation in activities like Unity Week to propagate more communication between the different groups at Tigard which is inclusive for all races and ethnicities
WHY should you vote for Tanner?
From being a 3rd-year member of the Tigard Lacrosse team, and participating in several different community service organizations, along with taking classes that inform and give me a better perspective and understanding into the livelihood of our diverse student body, and frequently trying to challenge myself in the process, I want to be involved in all aspects of the community and want to be a class officer to represent you better.
One of my goals as a class officer is to make Tigard a more encouraging and welcoming space for all students to learn, grow, and express who they are.
I plan to incorporate more advocacy this year by garnering support for our student-based events, creating a stronger sense of unity, and increasing our community reach. Whether you vote for me or one of my fellow candidates, I plan to take action and hear your voices. Thank you for taking the time and consideration to read this, and please consider voting for Tanner Block to be one of your senior class officers!
