Juli Hernandez BotelloHi Tigers!
My name is Juli Hernandez Botello and I am passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion within our community. Having personally faced an identity crisis and struggled with acceptance of my own culture, I am hoping to create a more accepting climate at THS. Some of my goals:
|
Owen AhlbrechtAs ASB President, I am committed to getting more value out of the ASB Sticker. The ASB Sticker is a great way for students to support school events and activities, but I want to ensure that students feel they are getting their money's worth. I plan to restructure how the funds are used so that more students get to see the benefits of those funds.
Secondly, I believe that it's essential to promote a more inclusive and diverse school environment. Affinity groups play a vital role in this, providing a safe and supportive space for students of different backgrounds to come together and celebrate their identities. I will work to increase funding for these groups, providing them with the resources they need to organize events and activities that promote diversity and inclusion. Finally, I believe that it's crucial to diversify the Leadership class. Too often, leadership positions are filled by a narrow group of students, excluding others who may have valuable skills and perspectives to contribute. As ASB President, I plan to create more opportunities for underrepresented students to participate and lead in school-wide initiatives. This could involve, partnering with affinity groups, or organizing leadership workshops. By doing so, I hope to foster a more inclusive and representative class that reflects the diversity of our student body. In summary, my goals as ASB President are aimed at creating a more vibrant and inclusive school community. By getting more value out of the ASB Sticker, increasing funding to affinity groups, and diversifying the Leadership class, I believe we can create a school culture that is welcoming to all students and celebrates everyone. |
